E-Waste

April 29th, 2010 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

It seems a lot of city councils are making big moves to introduce an ‘e-waste’ initiative, as the e-waste rubbish heaps grow 3 times faster than normal household waste. E-waste also has a lot of hazardous waste such as lead and mercury, which we do not want to expose into water ways. For more information on how and where to dispose of your e-waste check out your council websites.

If you are wanting to dispose of household waste, log onto ww.bookabin.com.au to find the best price we have available for a skip bin in your area.

Do I Have Enough Room for the Skip Bin Driver?

April 15th, 2010 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

This is a common question we receive here at bookabin.com.au.  To assist, we have updated our FAQ’s section to help make your skip bin delivery as smooth as possible.  Here are a few tips:

  • Your drive should be at least a minimum 3 metres wide
  • There shouldn’t be any tree branches hanging in the way
  • Make sure any power lines are high enough for the truck to make it through
  • The area where the skip bin is to be placed should be clear of any debris
  • Contact your supplier (information is on your confirmation email) to discuss any potential delivery/pickup issues

Hopefully this should clear things up a bit, however if you still have questions before you book your skip bin, simply click the Live Chat option on the website and we will be happy to assist you further.

Beauty Products = Hazardous Waste?

April 7th, 2010 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

You may not equate the two of these right off the bat, but when thinking about the ingredients, you’ll find they shouldn’t be treated as normal rubbish.  Take nail polish for example.  When you are done with it (empty or not), do you simply throw it in the rubbish bin? For most people, the answer is probably ‘yes’.  Unfortunately, this is the wrong answer.  Have a look at this interesting article for more information which also includes a link to other potential items that cannot be disposed of  or recycled normally:
