The team at bookabin receive a lot of enquiries from customers asking what bin type they need when they have a mixture of heavy waste and cleanfill waste?
Heavy waste and general waste together is classed as mixed heavy waste which unfortunately none of our suppliers service. What we suggest doing is getting a quote for a smaller size general waste bin and a quote for the cleanfill bin then compare the prices - often it equals roughly the same price as a larger bin. Remember a cleanfill bin also has no weight limit.

In the name of safety (environmental and personal!) hazardous waste cannot be placed in a skip bin. This type of waste includes TV’s, monitors, fridges, paints, solvents, liquids or any asbestos. To dispose of any of these materials you need to contact your local council. They will be able to provide you with a contact who can dispose of anything hazardous or not accepted in your skip bin (i.e. food waste). In some areas, disposal of tyres and mattresses in the skip bin can incur additional charges, due to the process involved. If you are unsure about what you have to get rid of, the best thing to do is contact your local council directly and have a chat or use the LIVE CHAT function on the www.bookabin.com.au website….

Victoria is slowly but surely introducing higher landfill levies in an effort to increase recycling. The success of this initiative in Brumby has proven it is an efficient way to get people to recycle rather than just throwing their waste in the rubbish - it certainly has the affect to make people think twice!
What do you think residents in postcode 3030 – Point Cook, Quandong, Werribee, Derrimut, Cocoroc, Chartwell and Werribee South, will you be welcoming the increased levy in order to recycle?

The building and construction industry in Victoria are been encouraged to RECYCLE!The Industrial Relations Minister has put together a ‘how to’ guide which focuses on construction companies learning better ‘green’ practices.Research shows that about 80% of waste was being recycled on larger construction sites..However, the potential to show the smaller construction sites the benefits of recycling is still great! With waste such as concrete being salable its win win for everybody! If your in Victoria, Saint Helena Postcode 3088 and booking a skip Bin - talk to your supplier about recycling!

The team at bookabin is fascinated with the ingenuity of the Americans during their current heatwave! They have been turning an everyday dumpster (Known in Australia as a Skip Bin) into pools…When you can get a 40yard dumpster for less than $600 for a month, thats a pretty cheap pool…especially if you charge a cover charge to all the neighbourhood kids.So this coming summer will you be hiring a skip bin to use as a make shift pool?We know it gets extremely hot in Australia over summer, will we be seeing any skip bin pools especially in the suburbs away from the ocean such as Queensland 4152, Carindale, Carina Heights, Carina and Camp Hill? However if you wish to use the bin for traditional purposes have a look at what bookabin has on offer in your area.So what do you think??? Genius or Gross?
