What CANT go in a skip bin??

December 9th, 2010 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

In the name of safety (environmental and personal!) hazardous waste cannot be placed in a skip bin. This type of waste includes TV’s, monitors, fridges, paints, solvents, liquids or any asbestos. To dispose of any of these materials you need to contact your local council. They will be able to provide you with a contact who can dispose of anything hazardous or not accepted in your skip bin (i.e. food waste). In some areas, disposal of tyres and mattresses in the skip bin can incur additional charges, due to the process involved. If you are unsure about what you have to get rid of, the best thing to do is contact your local council directly and have a chat or use the LIVE CHAT function on the www.bookabin.com.au  website….

E-Waste

April 29th, 2010 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

It seems a lot of city councils are making big moves to introduce an ‘e-waste’ initiative, as the e-waste rubbish heaps grow 3 times faster than normal household waste. E-waste also has a lot of hazardous waste such as lead and mercury, which we do not want to expose into water ways. For more information on how and where to dispose of your e-waste check out your council websites.

If you are wanting to dispose of household waste, log onto ww.bookabin.com.au to find the best price we have available for a skip bin in your area.
