In Case You Didn’t Know…

August 30th, 2009 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

There is a difference when selecting which bin to hire.  If you have light domestic and/or commercial waste, you should be selecting a ‘General Waste’ bin.  If you have cleanfill, you should be selecting a ‘Cleanfill’ bin.  Please do not try to order a General Waste bin if you have cleanfill to dispose of as this will disrupt the service of your bin.  As a friendly reminder, we have included this note within the waste type descriptions.

Changes To Our Website!

December 4th, 2008 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

www.bookabin.com.au has undergone a tiny change.

Due to customer feedback, we have made a change to our Waste Type notifications. The change should make it clearer to our customers when they are choosing which type of skip bin they require. The notification now reads:

General Waste (suitable for light domestic and commercial waste)
Clean fill / Hard fill Waste (soil, clay, brick, rock, tiles, etc)
Green Garden Waste (biodegradable, organic garden waste)

Please note there is a weight limit of 150kg per cubic meter on General Waste Skip Bins, for example if you order a 3m your limit is 450kg.

Remember our LIVE CHAT function if you have any questions we can help you with!

Sheila’s Dilemma!

October 30th, 2008 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

HELP! I’M STUCK! WHICH WASTE TYPE DO I NEED?!?

Sheila* had a dilemma… She was in the process of sorting out her landscaping in the back garden when she couldn’t stop! After starting with digging up some soil and laying pavers, she kept going! Soon she had done an amazing job which ‘Extreme Makeover Home Edition’ would have been proud to call their own! With peace of mind that her garden looked simply FABULOUS, the thought dawned upon Sheila… What is she to do with all of this excess garden waste she had dug up?

Never fear Sheila! Bookabin is here! And cleaning up Australia one garden at a time is what we do best.

Sheila (like many smart Australians) got onto the computer and visited the very popular www.bookabin.com.au. This website allows you to obtain a quote for a skip bin best suited to your requirements! You can rest assured you are getting the most competitive quote as we will scan from a NUMBER of local suppliers’ rates within your area ensuring that you always get the BEST service for the LOWEST price!

After entering her postcode, Sheila was stumped! The next step required her to select a waste type. She looked outside her window and saw a pile of soil, organic garden waste and some wood. Sheila asked herself… “Which bin type is right for me?”

…to be continued

E-Waste!

October 12th, 2008 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

Electronic waste, “e-waste” or “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” (”WEEE”) is a waste type consisting of any broken or unwanted electrical or electronic device. Recyclable electronic waste is sometimes further categorized as a “commodity” while e-waste which cannot be reused is distinguished as “waste”. Both types of e-waste have raised concern considering that many components of such equipment are considered toxic and are not biodegradable. - Read more…

So what can you put in your skip bin?

General Waste: Typically anything involved with a “general cleanup around the house and section” that is neither liquid nor of a hazardous nature

Cleanfill / Hardfill: Any of the following: concrete, soil, sand, clay, rocks, rubble, bricks, sand, asphalt, and/or ceramic tiles

Green Waste: Any of the following: grass, leaves, tree trimmings, small branches and other organic materials

Still not sure of what you can put in your bin hire? Please contact us via our Live Chat and a member from our friendly customer service team will be happy to assist you with your enquiries.

Helpful Hints For Booking A Skip Bin!

September 18th, 2008 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

It’s that time of the week again folks! Helpful hints from the Bookabin team, that’s what we’re all about!

Firstly a HUGE thanks you to all of those out there who have been utilising our website. We love visitors and we love your feedback so keep it up!

Booking Hints 101

1. Be aware of your postcode, if you DO NOT know your postcode then please click in the link below ‘Unsure of Post Code’. This will open up our handy dandy postcode finder.

2. Know what waste type you require; if you have a mix of household and garden waste – go for a General Waste Bin! If you have a collection of tiles, concrete and bricks – you’re going to need a Clean Fill Waste Bin.

3. Select the right bin size FIRST TIME. Think about it, take a long hard look at the waste you have and at our bin selection. Getting it right the first time is a lot cheaper than ordering 2 bins!

4. Be realistic about the time you require the skip for. Usually there is not much difference between the cost in a 1 day hire and a 6 day hire. Booking a bin for 5 days and then changing your mind about how long you need it for can mess up the stock levels for your supplier.

5. When filling out your delivery requirements PLEASE be considerate of your supplier. Use a number that the supplier can contact you with on the day of the delivery.

6. Read over your order! We can not emphasize the importance of this. It is easy to click on the wrong date, bin size or bin type, so please double check the details are correct.

7. Click on the ‘Book Bin’ button ONCE. Clicking on the button more than once can lead to multiple payments. When in doubt, please use our online support and we can confirm whether or not the payment has come through.

8. And lastly, stay beautiful Australia!

To all you lucky Blokes and Sheila’s who reside in Western Australia, you enjoy the long weekend coming up next week! You have been patient in waiting to celebrate the Queens birthday and that has all paid off… The weather will be in your favour so whip out the BBQ and make a day of it!

*Please drink responsibly*

Over and out Australia

We Listen To Our Customers!

May 29th, 2008 by The BookaBin Australia Bin Hire Team

The easier www.bookabin.com.au is to use the better! Because we value our customers, we love to action their feedback and make user friendly changes.

In April we set our Waste Type table in a different format with the hope of presenting the information more clearly, unfortunately this did not work as we had hoped. The feedback we have gathered since has shown the page to be cluttered and more confusing for our customers to use, therefore we have changed it back to its previous format, clean and clear.

Now if you are confused as to which waste type you have or the type of bin to choose, this information can be found in the FAQ area of www.bookabin.com.au.
We really appreciate feedback so if there is anything you would like to bring to our attention contact us at www.bookabin.com.au using the Live Chat or by email admin@bookabin.com.au.

Our ears are open!
